A Great Sports Saturday
Well, we got thru Saturday with opening day for softball and baseball, and we actually got to play all the games. A lot of the morning games were cancelled because of all the rain on Friday, but since Ethan and Madison’s games were late we were able to play.
Madison had a full day with soccer in the morning and then her softball game at 2:00. She did a great job in both games and gave her best effort in both. Her soccer team got the lead and never let it go. The softball team got off to a slow start in the first couple innings but came back from a large deficit to win in the last inning.
Ethan also had a great game and I think he had a lot of fun as his team took a commanding lead early and held on for the win.
Aunt Sue came out for the games and I think she had a lot of fun watching them play.
Spring Sports
What an exciting time of year. I’m looking forward to spending time at the ball fields and soccer fields. Ethan is in his second year of Little League baseball, Madison is in her very first year playing baseball and she’s also playing soccer again. Now if only the weather would go back to what it was a couple days ago!
What a great time for sports
I’ve been sitting at the computer working on stuff and I’m sort of half-watching a little bit of Pitt/Louisville and thinking what a great time of year it is for sports. March Madness is bascally upon us, spring training games have begun, and warm weather is almost here which means I can actually go out and play sports with the kids. We just bought our son a basketball hoop as an early birthday present. We actually bought it from a neighbor today and will pick it up in the next day or two. I think he’s gonna love the opportunity to go out in the driveway and shoot hoops. I have a suspicion that I’ll have some fun with it too.
We’re looking at buying some Reds tickets and getting to at least one game sometime this year. We made the trip down there from Central Ohio last year and had a great time. The kids really enjoyed it and we got to see a great game against St. Louis when the Reds were still somewhat in the race. Maybe this year they’ll pull it out at the end of the season. That’s one of the great things about sports: “There’s always next year!”
